The Kingsley Project

Light is the ultimate luxury.

But only when you have the power to control it.

In our recent project, the architectural vision by MHNDU demanded nothing less than perfection. The home needed to be a sanctuary—a space that felt both expansive and deeply private. Working closely alongside the interior design team at Lawless & Meyerson, we were tasked with turning that vision into a reality through bespoke internal window furnishings.

Let me explain.

For the home’s interiors, we crafted an atmosphere of effortless, refined elegance. We installed precision-engineered Luxaflex roller blinds, pairing them seamlessly with flowing, custom-made curtains. The result is a stunning visual rhythm that softens the modern architectural edges while granting the homeowners complete command over their privacy and natural lighting.

But there’s more.

True luxury is also about absolute, uninterrupted comfort. West-facing bedroom windows offer beautiful afternoon light, but they can quickly turn a restful space into an uncomfortable heat trap. To solve this, MHNDU specified state-of-the-art Renson Fixscreens for the exterior.

We expertly installed this innovative exterior shielding to act as a premier defense against the harsh afternoon sun. It ensures the bedrooms remain perfectly cool and protected from the heat, all without sacrificing the home’s striking views overlooking the harbour.

We don’t just install window coverings. We engineer environments where every single detail enhances how you live, breathe, and relax in your home.

Aesthetic Developments Studio

Creating a truly welcoming workspace is a delicate balancing act.

For the team at Aesthetic Developments, the vision for their new head office was clear. They needed a space that felt refined, grounded, and perfectly balanced. The challenge? Seamlessly “blending both masculine and feminine elements in a way that felt timeless, warm and welcoming for our clients.”

To soften the stronger architectural finishes throughout the studio, custom drapery became the defining feature.

Enter the premium JD Cavalier fabric range.

Opting for the colour ‘Blush,’ the incomparable tone and texture introduced an immediate sense of calm. As the Aesthetic Developments team noted, “The softness of the fabric introduced warmth and depth into the space, while still maintaining a sophisticated and elevated aesthetic.” The curtains effectively anchored the studio’s palette, bridging the gap between bold structural elements and softer interior details.

But flawless aesthetics require flawless execution.

To ensure the clean, modern lines of the ceiling remained completely uninterrupted, the drapery was paired with Somfy Glydea recessed motorised tracks. By completely concealing the hardware flush within the ceiling cavity, the heavy fabric appears to float effortlessly. It’s a whisper-quiet, touch-of-a-button solution that provides functional luxury without visual clutter.

The final verdict?

“Beyond the aesthetics, the quality and drape of the fabric further elevated the atmosphere of the space, helping us achieve a final result that feels both luxurious and thoughtfully considered.” Married with seamless smart-motorisation, the result is an environment that performs beautifully while meeting the absolute highest standard of design.

Redefining the Clinic Experience: Inside Biogenix

Traditional wellness spaces often feel cold and clinical. Biogenix completely redefines that experience.

When the visionary design team at Five Foot One Design mapped out a concept of organic modernism, they envisioned sweeping architectural curves, soft neutral tones, and a deeply calming atmosphere. Working closely with the builder, Bellevue, we brought this luxurious vision to life through bespoke spatial and window furnishings that subtly accentuate the clinic’s serene character.

The Challenge of the Curves

Walk into the open-plan transfusion pods, and your eyes are immediately drawn to the floor-to-ceiling custom curtains. They don’t just hang; they are engineered to flawlessly track the elegant, sweeping flow of the overhead architectural bulkheads.

But achieving this seamless look meant overcoming a significant technical hurdle.

Because of the complex radiuses of the bulkheads, standard hardware wasn’t an option. We applied our technical expertise to recommend and install a premium “Silent Gliss” custom curtain track system.

Why this specific system? It delivers the extreme reliability and heavy-duty performance required for complex, curved applications. The result is a smooth, effortless operation that provides essential, flexible privacy for patients reclining in their treatment chairs. To complete the sensory experience, the tactile, textured fabrics beautifully soften the room’s acoustics while perfectly complementing the clinic’s earthy tones.

Minimalist Elegance in Private Spaces

In the private consultation rooms, the goals shifted to absolute privacy and flawless light control.

We introduced high-quality roller blinds designed to seamlessly integrate with the clinic’s minimalist architecture. These blinds instantly elevate the functionality of the treatment spaces, giving practitioners complete control over the environment at a touch.

With their clean lines and versatile nature, these roller blinds add a layer of refined elegance without compromising a single inch of the interior architecture.

The Fairview Project

Working on the Fairview Project was both rewarding and challenging due to its complexity, varying ceiling heights, and large opening spans. The product selection was meticulously curated through multiple site consultations and close collaboration with AD’s designer Lina Strati, who had a clear vision for the project’s interior design and style. The unique design of the Fairview Project was complemented with soft window furnishings, such as custom-made curtains and Luxaflex Pirouette Shadings, which subtly accentuated the Mediterranean yet luxurious character of the house.

The custom-made curtains created a stunning effect, especially downstairs, where they were used as floor-to-ceiling applications on a very tall entry window installed along a curved wall. The sheer custom-made curtain together with curved curtain track emphasised the area’s spaciousness. Additionally, the sheer fabric, acting as a delicate light filter, bathed the whole space in a pleasant glow, creating a restful atmosphere in the living area.

Motorised curtain tracks ensured effortless operation of the Sheer Curtains, particularly on the large sliding door in the kitchen/dining area. Motorisation offers practical and comfortable operation, making large curtains an ideal solution when manual operation could be problematic due to the large span.

The main bedroom’s corner sliding door was dressed with motorised Luxaflex Roller Blinds and custom sheer curtains. The roller blinds enhance the blockout effect, while the sheer curtain creates a seamless, soft look using bent tracks. The combination of sheer and blockout fabrics ensures that privacy and light can be effortlessly controlled. The selected sheer curtain fabric harmoniously blends with the wall color and texture, as well as the warmth of the timber flooring.

The innovative Luxaflex Pirouette Shadings were introduced to other bedrooms as a versatile and elegant addition to integrate with the house’s luxurious design. They provide the convenience of motorised window furnishings. These elegantly designed soft shades improve the overall functionality of living spaces by offering room darkening features and light filtering options. The versatile nature and stylish design of the Pirouette make it an ideal product for adding refined elegance without compromising functionality.

Coastal Harmony

Our objective for this project was to ensure that the selected window furnishings complemented the design of the house both internally and externally, while also providing optimal functionality.

To achieve light control and privacy in the bedrooms, the customer chose Luxaflex room darkening Pirouette Shadings. These modern, soft alternatives to shutters offer enhanced functionality and elegance. For the living area, the customer opted for custom-made sheer curtains to reduce glare and protect the floors and furnishings from the northern winter sun and the morning easterly sun. These curtains also contribute to the room’s warmth and acoustics, creating a cozy atmosphere.

In the bathroom, Luxaflex Polysatin plantation shutters were selected as the best option for the high humidity environment. These shutters are extremely durable and impervious to moisture, making them ideal for bathroom use and ensuring the longevity of the product.

Hampton-Coastal Fusion

For this modernised Hampton-style home, the kitchen and dining areas were enhanced with floor-to-ceiling Luxaflex Luminette Privacy Sheers. They softly diffuse the light filtering through the large glass openings from the north, east, and west, creating a pleasant glow. The Luminette Privacy Sheers feature vertical blades that rotate, providing privacy and protecting the flooring and furnishings from strong sunlight. Additionally, these versatile window treatments allow for easy access to sliding doors by simply traversing the product to one side.

In the living area, we installed the same Luxaflex Luminette Privacy Sheers in a ceiling recess for a seamless finish. This installation adds visual spaciousness to the room, which features natural materials and textures. The soft sheer fabric of the Luminettes blends harmoniously, enhancing the warmth of the natural timber floors and the stone around the fireplace. Besides their visual appeal, these smart, curtain-like window furnishings offer excellent control of light and privacy throughout the day and night.

For the upstairs bedrooms, we used a double-curtain solution. This approach is ideal for achieving darkness during sleep, especially with wall-to-wall applications. The dual curtain track, featuring both sheer and blockout layers, offers everything needed to dress the bedroom, creating softness and maintaining privacy at all times. This stylish, hotel-like look of Double Custom-Made Curtains elegantly complements the interior, emphasizing the warm Hampton-Coastal design of the house.

Contemporary Haven

For this project, we provided window furnishings that blend elegance with functionality, enhancing the contemporary look and feel of the home.

In the bedrooms, we installed wall-to-wall double custom-made curtains. These provide a luxurious, hotel-like ambiance, with blockout curtains for complete light blocking and sheer curtains for daytime privacy.

The living area features Luxaflex Lumishades, which offer excellent privacy control both day and night. The unique design of the Luxaflex Lumishades enhances the room’s aesthetic, with the ability to tilt the fabric panels allowing for both visibility and privacy as needed. Additionally, the Luxaflex Lumishades on the doors are designed with separate fabric panels, enabling easy access without the need to traverse the entire shade.

To protect the west-facing alfresco area, we installed an Evo Magnatrack awning. This innovative awning shields the space from the harsh westerly sun and weather elements, effectively extending the home’s living area. The Evo Magnatrack awning can be used year-round, thanks to its unique design and the incorporation of neodymium magnets.

The overall result is a harmonious blend of style and practicality, perfectly suited to the contemporary coastal theme of the home.

Bayview Serenity

For this project, our client sought a coastal contemporary look, enhanced by the home’s proximity to a bay.

In the master bedroom, we installed double curtains spanning the entire wall from floor to ceiling. This simple yet elegant solution provides excellent light coverage and complements the room’s soft and welcoming atmosphere. The light grey sheer curtain filters daylight, creating a pleasant glow without unwanted glare, while maintaining visibility and privacy. The addition of a pelmet at the top further enhances the aesthetic and functionality.

For the theatre room, Luxaflex Pirouette Shades were chosen. These shades offer a soft, practical solution with room-darkening capabilities when needed and a sheer appearance during the day, ensuring subtle privacy.

The tiled deck was enclosed with high-end Renson Fix Screens to block the harsh western sun, making the space comfortable for use on summer afternoons. These smart, windproof, and slimline external screens provide excellent heat and sun protection with the click of a button, transforming the external space into an extension of the living area. The precision and European engineering of Renson Fix Screens ensure long-lasting, faultless operation.

The exterior design of the house was also meticulously planned. Renson Linarte cladding on the front façade adds a contemporary touch to the coastal character of the home. It creates a neat and stylish appearance from the street, seamlessly blending with the timber cladding on the upper level and elegantly framing the garage door.

New home

It’s no secret that we love getting involved in a new build. This dream job was a new home designed specifically to suit a young family – plenty of rooms to retreat to inside and a gorgeous pool area to enjoy outside.

The brief for interior window treatments was straightforward: curtains were to complement and soften each living area and make the bedrooms nice and dark for sleeping.

To reduce heat and glare entering the master bedroom, we custom made and installed a Leiner Panorama External Sunscreen. And for the front of the house, where light control and privacy were ‘must haves’, external aluminium venetians proved ideal.

Beautifully stylish combinations of sheers and blockouts were chosen for the rooms, adding warmth and atmosphere. Our favourite? The ivory sheers in the living room, using designer fabric from Charles Parsons.

These guys will also be enjoying their extended living space, thanks to their Renson Camargue Louvred Roof. With the louvres fully closed and the windtight Fixscreens down, they’ll be protected from heat, wind and rain, and there’ll be no sacrificing the view.
