Horiso is the Australian distributor of Sunshield® Unique Louvres, the world leader in operable Rack Arm Shading Systems. These are a great solution for all types of shaped windows in terms of maintaining light, solar control, privacy and security. They have robust extruded blades and offer protection from wind speeds of up to 100 km per hour.

Rack Arm Systems use fixed support arms which hold aluminium or timber interlocking or overlapping slats which tilt from 0° to 90°. The tilting slats provide the optimal amount of daylight, minimising the need for artificial lighting and air-conditioner use by maintaining effective airflow and reducing overall solar heat gain. They can be mounted on roofs, under-mounted, or ceiling-mounted.

Interlocking louvres are available with brushes and perimeter baffles, providing near blackout, or adjusted to allow day-lighting as needed. Cross ventilation can be achieved by slats automatically tilting to optimise shading at varying sun angles. The slats, operating and structural components of these systems are made from high grade extruded aluminium.

Made to suit your home

Your Horiso Rack Arm System comes in four styles with aluminium profiles (75E, 88E, 145E and 155E) and three Red Western Cedar profiles (74W, 87W and 153W). These can be shaped and cut to size, mitre-cut or faceted. They are powder coated to eight standard colours or your choice from the DULUX® powder coat range.

The slats and components are lightweight and therefore suitable for light building structures as well as sloping facades and skylights. The range also includes systems suitable for internal and external installations on a range of shaped glazing: rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal and circular.

The Horiso Rack Arm System is easy to install, assembled on site, and all systems have a five year warranty. They typically take six weeks from consultation to installation, and are finished in Australia.

Choice of operating systems

You have three options with regards to installation and operation: fixed, crank arm/handle, or motorised. Motorised operation is the most effective control for Rack Arm Systems. The electric motor incorporates internal thermal protection against overheating and a tubular motor drives a gearbox that is connected to the tilt shaft.

Key Features

Effortless control
Adjust your Rack Arm System with the touch of a button, thanks to smart motorised control.

Ease of installation
Your system can be fully customised to your home, and can also be installed on a wide range of building structures, as well as a range of shaped glazing – rectangular, triangular, trapezoidal and circular.

Sun shade and privacy
Interlocking louvres are available with brushes and perimeter baffles which can almost entirely blockout the sun’s rays, or adjusted to allow day-lighting as needed. Cross ventilation can be achieved by slats automatically tilting to optimise shading at varying sun angles.

Flexible sun positioning
Let air flow freely through your space by tilting the slats, and optimise shade at varying sun angles.

Made to last
The slats, operating and structural components are all made from high grade extruded aluminium.

Aluminium Slat Profiles

Horiso Rack Arm aluminium louvre slats are made from durable light weight aluminium alloy extrusions in overlapping or interlocking slat options.
Louvre slats are finished with a polyester and polyurethane coating and are available in eight standard colour options with custom colour options.

Timber Slat Profiles

Horiso selects timber for the manufacturing of timber slats from sustainably managed forests in both western red cedar and Accoya® varieties. Timber louvre slats offer a natural and coordinating finish to compliment a building’s facade.

Timber Slat Colours

This robust timber can withstand most weather conditions and is not prone to shrinkage or swelling. Due to its versatility, it can be used for both internal and external applications.

Western Red Cedar

A dimensionally stable timber under most weather conditions and is not prone to shrinkage or swelling.

Due to its versatility, it can be used for both internal and external applications.

Accoya®

Accoya® is modified timber made using a process called acetylation, a cutting-edge patented technology which enables it to resist rot, defy the elements and stay strong for decades. Accoya® wood is sourced from sustainable sources, including FSC® and Cradle to Cradle™ Gold environmental certification.
