Aluminium Slats

Engineered from a highly elastic alloy, Horiso crowned aluminium slats are flexible, scratch-proof, and shockproof. Standard double Omega punching (featured on external and double-skin facade applications) combines with high-tensile ladder braids to ensure smooth closing, precise alignment, and noise-free stability in coastal winds. Powder-coated finishes are Qualicoat-certified for superior long-term weather resistance.

Perforated Slats

Available in Horiso’s standard aluminium palette or custom RAL finishes, perforated slats feature micro-perforations that filter harsh solar glare and UV radiation while allowing soft ambient light and view-through visibility when closed.

Western Red Cedar (80mm x 4mm): Robust, weather-resistant timber that resists shrinkage and swelling, available in Light, Medium, and Dark Stain finishes for internal and external applications.

Specialty Venetian Blinds in double skin facades

Horiso External Venetian Blinds are custom-engineered for double-skin glass facades. Installed within the cavity between inner and outer glass skins, they capture and vent solar thermal energy before it enters the building, optimising HVAC efficiency and occupant comfort.

Head Rail

• Manufactured from extruded aluminium alloy 6060-T5/6 with a 25µm clear anodised finish.
• Dimensions: 60mm x 57mm with a 1.5mm wall thickness.
• Bottom-opening profile allows direct access to the internal gearbox, tilt shaft, and tape spools for easy maintenance.

Drive Shaft

• High-torque 12mm extruded aluminium alloy 6060-T5/6 drive shaft with a 7mm hexagonal coupling insert.
• Optionally fitted with Nylon6 extruded link devices to operate multiple blinds together from a single drive motor.

Gate Brackets

• Top-fix ‘saddle’ brackets manufactured from aluminium alloy 6060-T5/6 with a 25µm clear anodised finish.
• Engineered spacing with a maximum 600mm distance between gate brackets to ensure total structural stability.

Slats

• 80mm or 100mm wide crowned aluminium slats with patented double HORISO® Omega punching.
• Manufactured from 0.40mm thick, highly flexible AA5050 marine-grade aluminium alloy.
• Three-layer PVDF polyester coating (including etch-primer conversion coating) applied across longitudinal edges for complete edge-to-edge corrosion defense.
• Double oven-baked finish delivering exceptional bend, scratch, and shock resistance.

Lifting Tape

• High-Tenacity Filament: TEXBAND® lifting tape manufactured from high-tenacity PES filament in warp and weft for maximum lifting durability.
• Precision Dimensions: 6mm width (+0.00 / -0.20mm) with an approximate 0.28mm thickness.
• Minimal Stretch & High Strength: Elastic stretch capped at a maximum of 1% (tested on 4.00m at 100N load for 3 minutes), delivering a minimum breaking strength of 700N.
• Thermal Stability: Maximum hot temperature shrinkage of just 2.5% (tested on 4.00m boiling over 10 minutes).

Ladder Braid

• Kevlar-Reinforced Build: Manufactured from Kevlar-reinforced Terylene with cross webs cross-attached to omega punches on each side of the lifting tape punches, eliminating lateral movement and slat drift.
• Dimensional Accuracy: Side cable spacing of 85.00mm (+/- 0.5mm), step cable diameter of 1.00mm, and side cable width of 3.80mm (+/- 0.2mm).
• Controlled Alignment: Measured ladder spacing over 3,960mm (56 spaces with a 500g load) maintains 3,960mm (+/- 5mm), with crookedness under 5.00mm across 56 spaces.
• Tensile Resilience: Side cable tensile strength rated at 600N, with minimal elongation under 0.5% (tested over 3,960mm for 2 minutes with 5N load, each side cable loaded to 50N).
• Boil Shrinkage & UV Fastness: Boiling shrinkage under 0.55% after 10 minutes; Xenontest 6 certified for colorfastness under high UV exposure.

Base Rail

• Heavy-Duty Extrusion: Constructed from extruded aluminium alloy 6063-T6 (2mm wall thickness) in an 80mm profile width.
• HORISO® Safety Release System: Lifting tape and ladder braid attach using a patented safety release mechanism that disengages under excessive loads—protecting internal gearboxes and allowing simple on-site servicing.
• Protective End Caps: Fitted with molded Nylon66 end caps and smooth cable guide conduits to prevent wire fraying.
• Architectural Finishes: Available in a 25µm clear anodised finish or custom powder-coated to match your slat color.

Tilting Device & Tape Roll

• 170° Dynamic Rotation: Horiso N systems feature multi-function tape roll supports allowing slats to tilt smoothly from fully open to fully closed across an approximate 170° range with adjustable limit settings.

Cable Guides

• Marine-Grade Wire Strands: Constructed from 3.20mm diameter 316 stainless steel wire (1×19 strand construction) with a breaking strength exceeding 7.0 kN (cross-sectional area > 5.4 mm²).
• Double Spring Tensioning: Secured into the head rail using HORISO® double spring tensioning brackets (extruded AA 6060, 25µm clear anodised) and heavy-duty mushroom swages (shaft OD 6.40mm, max load > 9.0kN).
• Universal Bottom Anchoring: Fixed at the base with HORISO® M8 universal swages (max load > 3.0kN) into aluminium angle brackets, drop-in masonry anchors, or custom structural mounting points.

Venetian Blind Motor

• Whisper-Quiet Elero JA06 Drive: German-engineered Elero JA06 Venetian motor featuring a noiseless soft-brake system that eliminates harsh “click-clack” stopping sounds.
• Performance Specs: 6Nm torque output at 26rpm, featuring micro-adjustable top and bottom limit switches (up to an 85 shaft revolution limit switch range).
• Electrical Specifications: 230V @ 50Hz, 115W power rating, and 0.5A operating current (2.5x at start-up).
• Safety & Ingress Protection: IP44 weather-resistant rating, 5-minute continuous operation thermal cut-out protection, and a 0.8m connecting cable with a molded IP54 Hirschmann plug.
