On-glass awning
Markilux® 7800
- Expansive Solar Protection: Shade up to 36 m² with a single unit, or couple up to five awnings for seamless coverage up to 180 m².
- Architectural Harmony: Clean, angular cassette design created to complement modern cubic and contemporary architecture.

The ultimate exterior sun protection for glass roofs and conservatories.
Glass roofs bring beautiful natural light into your home, but without proper shading, they can trap extreme solar heat. The high-quality markilux 7800 on-glass awning mounts directly above your glass roof to block heat before it ever enters your living space. Featuring a clean, cubic cassette design, it blends seamlessly with modern architectural lines. Powered by advanced counter-tension technology and optional markilux tracfix (zip-guided fabric technology), it maintains perfect fabric tension across even the widest glass spans.
Your advantages
- Superior Solar & Thermal Defense: Intercepts heat and glare above the glass, keeping indoor living spaces significantly cooler.
- Preserves Interior Ceiling Height: External roof-mounted installation leaves your interior headroom completely unobstructed.
- Architectural Integration: Classic angular cassette (200 × 160 mm) aligns with modern, linear building styles.
- Scalable Large-Area Shading: Link up to five units to effortlessly cover expansive glass extensions up to 180 m².
Features of the markilux 7800
Crisp architectural design meets high-performance climate control.
To truly enjoy your conservatory or glass-roofed patio year-round, effective climate control is essential. The markilux 7800 creates a comfortable indoor temperature while providing reliable glare protection. Mounted externally on top of the glass, this system is exceptionally durable, weather-resistant, and engineered to look like an organic extension of your home.
Customisation starts with your canopy fabric. Choose from an extensive range of contemporary colors, woven textures, and light-filtering patterns. Every markilux awning fabric delivers maximum UV protection (UPF 50+) and is built to withstand heavy rain, intense sun, and extreme temperature shifts. Even better, high-tech self-cleaning properties mean dirt particles are bound by water droplets and roll away naturally whenever rain falls on a pitched surface.
We also ensure your awning structure matches your home’s exterior palette. Select from classic standard frame finishes—including clean whites, refined greys, and timeless textured anthracite—or specify custom RAL color matching to coordinate precisely with your existing window frames and fascia.

Architectural Precision Outside. Intelligent Engineering Within.
German design meets high-performance solar protection. Shade up to 36 m² with a single unit, or link multiple awnings to seamlessly protect expansive glass spaces up to 180 m².

Advanced Solar & Thermal Defense
Stop heat build-up before it enters your home. By intercepting direct sunlight above the glass, the markilux 7800 keeps your living space cool, comfortable, and glare-free.

Seamless Architectural Integration
Tailored for modern living. The crisp 200 × 160 mm angular cassette profile aligns naturally with linear building lines and contemporary cubic architecture.

Precision Zip-Track Tensioning (markilux tracfix)
Eliminate light gaps and fabric sag. Optional tracfix zip-guided technology locks cover edges inside the tracks, keeping the fabric optimal and increasing wind stability.

Markilux Vertical Cassette Awnings
360-degree glare and privacy defense. Combine overhead shading with vertical drop awnings to block low afternoon sun, breezes, and neighboring views.

Markilux Side Screens
Lateral privacy and wind protection on demand. Retractable side screens pull out smoothly to shelter your patio space from low-angled light and prevailing winds.

FAQS about the markilux 7800
The markilux 7800 is a premium external on-glass awning featuring a sleek, angular protective cassette. It is mounted directly above glass conservatory roofs or patio structures to block solar heat before it reaches the glass.
Both models share the same high-performance internal tensioning technology and capabilities, but feature different cassette styles. The markilux 7800 uses a crisp, angular cassette suited to contemporary linear architecture, whereas the markilux 8800 features a rounded cassette profile.
You can operate the awning conveniently via handheld radio remote control, smartphone integration, or automated smart home systems. Automatic weather sensors can also be installed to extend the awning when the sun comes out or retract it during high winds.
On-glass awnings stop heat radiation before it passes through the glass, reducing internal heat buildup far more effectively than interior blinds. External mounting also preserves your complete interior headroom.
A single markilux 7800 unit can shade up to 36 m² (30 m² with the tracfix option). For expansive roofs, up to five awnings can be coupled together to cover up to 180 m².
The markilux 7800 is certified to Wind Resistance Class 3, meaning it remains stable and safe in wind speeds up to Beaufort Force 6 (38–48 km/h).
tracfix is an optional zip-guidance system that runs along the side tracks. It eliminates the light gap between the track and fabric cover, provides continuous edge-to-edge tension, and significantly increases wind stability.
